This is my pet project. I will definitely say this is a work in progress. I have been having difficulty making this look right, but I plan to keep with it and finish it up. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Here is the youtube link:

There is some weird sliding in the end because I wanted to get in some key poses for the next actions. Again, this is a work in progress :)

OK, this is probably not what you want to hear, but... you need to start over. Here is why: if you were about to pull a suitcase, you would lean, head forward (not foot forward). Your body would anticipate the weight of the suitcase (especially one that large). The over exaggerated leg-to-the-air-kick is over the top... The square wheel is too subtle--didn't see it on the first play...
ReplyDeleteI liked the one set of drawings you had that showed the person just trying to drag the heavy suitcase... I could picture the motivation (have to get to the gate/airport/counter/etc) and the obstacle (un-rollable suitcase).
If you decide to attack this again, here is the "script" I would like you to try:
1. Suitcase has only one working wheel (one of the other wheels is still attached but dragging behind the suitcase).
2. The person has to get somewhere (define it)
3. The person enters the screen already dragging the suitcase
You've got some good and expressive poses and movements in there. It would read more clear with more anticipation in the beginning before he starts to try and pull the suitcase. Not sure why there would be a square wheel? Charlotte's idea is funny with the dragging wheel. Maybe you can show it pop off and then show that expressive movement with his leg flying forward.
